Our story

What is New Camp?

What once was the site of one of Canada’s largest military camps is now home to something new. Located in Signal Hill, New Camp’s name pays tribute to Sarcee Camp and the 50,000 WWI soldiers who trained there. Brought to you by prolific Calgary/Cochrane restaurateur Tony Nicastro (whose last name actually means ‘new camp’), New Camp Bar & Table is premium casual establishment focused on great food and guest experience.

Beautifully redone, great ambiance, and delicious food at super prices. We had the Burrito Mojado and Smoked Banh Mi with fries. Both dishes were so good with generous portions. The fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned. Service was excellent. We will be back.

Place has a bit of an identity crisis. Decor is mix of Italian bistro, north America pub with a bit of a french style decoration. The menu claims to be asain and Mexican, and it certainly has that, but it’s also very north American in that it has a bit of everything. Had the fish and chips. Fish was amazing. Not to crispy not too soggy. You could still taste the fish, but the batter carried the flavour. Staff was not informed of the menu….but it just opened, so I’ll let it slide.

Great little neighborhood pub…nice work on the reno and decor. Waitresses all so nice….courteous and efficient. Good food….good selection of beer and reasonable prices. Will definitely be back…

Good to see a vegan selection on the menu, had the Vegan Soba portion was large and it tasted good. The seaweed taste was pretty dominant.

Vegan selections are pretty limited.
